This sporty ride is not only darn cute, it's economical, it's convertible and it's SAFE!  A few of our favorite features we'd like to highlight include:

  • Power folding hardtop convertible with sunroof, truly, the very best of all worlds!
  • 4 corner independent suspension
  • Crash optimized front end
  • Electronic Stability Control (ESC), for all that aweful weather we experience along the Central Coast

  • Heated seats, a personal favorite!
  • Self-dimming rear view mirror, a spiffy feature usually only the High Line models have

While the Rolls Royce is definetely NOT a vehicle we choose to service at High Line Automotive, we thought it was too fun, not to be featured with our readers.  Interestingly enough, we learned through a brief research of the history of the elegant Rolls Royce, that Volkswagen and BMW actually have had a part in the piece of the history if this classic automobile.  Volkswagen at one point owned Rolls-Royce, who owned Bentley. BMW came in and bought the Rolls-Royce name, freeing VW to develop Bentleys independent of Rolls, which it was happy to do.

We are delighted to service your BMW and your Volkswagen, and thank the good Lord, we don't get too many of these at High Line Automotive!

You may have heard of the event Best Buddies Challenge that takes place once a year along the central coast.  This year we had the opportunity to be a part of the VIP party after the ride, and concert at the dairy barn.  To our pure delight, there were spanking new Audi's ALL over the place!  It was SO awesome to see the new designs and technology in person.  The Audi R8 Spyder was defintetly a highlight to be able to check out up close, too bad they weren't offering test drives!  We're pretty sure that the V10 engine with the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) would have taken the drive up to the hilltop just A-OK, with no problem handling the turns and at a high speeds to boot!  Even though we didn't get to go for a ride, we were thrilled to be a part of the event, next to swimming in the Neptune pool, and being a stones throw from Teri Hatcher, the Audi R8 Spyder was certainly a highlight!  So, on to the specs....

The Audi R8 is luxury and sports car rolled into one.  It boasts a V10, 5.2 Liter engine, it can go from 0-60 in 3.7 seconds, that's fast enough for us!  With real time traffic built into the navigation and blue tooth microphone built into your seatbelt, what more would you need?  Of course along the Central Coast, traffic isn't much of an issue, but the combination of flying low while talking on the phone built into your seatbelt, now there's luxury at it's best.  Being mechanics, we thought the LED light engine comparment was a handy feature.  Hope you enjoy, we sure did, it never hurts to dream right?!

As a result of their involvement with Best Buddies, people with IDD secure rewarding jobs, live on their own, become inspirational leaders, and make lifelong friendships.

This year the Hearst Castle event raised over $3 milliion for this fantastic organization!

]]>24 hours of lemons...http://www.highlineautomotive.net/blog/2010/12/15/24-hours-of-lemons.htmlHigh Line Automotive, Atascadero Auto Repair2010-12-16T01:12:18Z2010-12-16T01:12:18ZI think when you have talent, you simply can't help yourself from being creative in using that talent.  On a shoestring budget, Dan, Jesse and crew decided to enter the 24 hours of "lemons" race at Button Willow raceway in early December.  If you were in or around the shop in November, I'm sure you either "got the race car tour" or saw them working late nights on their project.  Here's the downlow and a few photos of the process....

the general race rules:

  • the car must cost {with improvements} $500 or less!  {YIKES!}
  • 2 days of 12 hour racing
  • up to 5 team members may be drivers

The first day went great, placing #26 out of 200 cars....until late in ther day, they blew the motor!!  But that didn't stop this crew ... they whisked back to Atown (they are the Atown Shiners, afterall) and happen to have a spare motor to replace the bad one.  Within a few hours, she was back up and runnin'!  The second day went off without a hitch, but they ultimately were disqualified, for some small discrepency.  The main thing was they had a fantastic time, were safe and above all, made an awesome team.

They got to try out some machinery, like impact guns, air pressure gages and to top it off, we were the lucky recipients of Girl Scout cookies!

High Line Automotive strives to give back to the youth in our community through various organizations.  If there is an event or opportunity in need of sponsorship, ask Dan or Allyson about participating!
